Martin Worster (aka Han The DJ) had his first mystical experience on a dancefloor - well actually in the middle of a field - during the heady acid house days growing up in London, UK. This lead to a lifelong love affair with DJing and electronic music. As a student in Brighton on the south coast of England Martin held residencies at The Zap, the Warehouse and for the Babble sound system.

In London Martin played at Fabric, the Milk Bar and various one off parties around the capital whilst working as a music journalist for NME, Muzik, dotmusic and Music Week. Another exciting residency was held at Dicks T Bar in Chamonix, France where Martin was the resident DJ for two seasons playing to lively crowd of up for it Euro party heads.

Han The DJ can be found spinning every second Saturday of the month at the Zap night at Avalon in Costa Mesa. Expect to hear funky house music in all it's guises (alongside funk, rare groove, reggae, dub, UK garage, soul and drum and bass) as Han tries to replicate that eclectic London sound system vibe for your aural pleasure.

No-Doz Reunion June 30th 2012

Saturday, June 30th 2012 the most anticipated event of the summer is here "No-Doz"! It's time to break out your old-school dancing gear, dig through your DJ mix tape collection, and revisit where it all began for the L.A. underground warehouse scene. No-Doz, the legendary L.A. underground after-hours is returning once again, celebrating its 20 Year Anniversary. This will be an unforgettable evening, featuring all the resident & guest DJ's who used to tear-up the turntables every single weekend until the sun came up. For those of you who were there back in 1992, you already know what to expect from this event and for the newer generation this will be an enlightening history lesson.

No-Doz was originally created by Ron D Core & Dr. Freecloud's back in 1992. A weekly after-hours giving the scene another option going from the larger events and extending everyone's night of partying until sunrise. Small secret warehouses, lofts, and discrete nightclubs were used and pocket sized photocopied flyers were handed out at all the parties. Offering no more than a phone number to call which gave you a map point to check in and then proceed to the party. Ron D Core, DJ Dan & all the rest of the DJ's showed up at random times to spin records for a jam packed warehouse full of sweaty partygoers.

Fast forward to the present, all the original DJ's that played back in 1992 for No-Doz will be playing together once again!! Dr. Freecloud’s is excited to bring you the No-Doz 20 Year Reunion on June 30th at the fully restored and remodeled Fox Theater in Pomona. The DJ's performing are: Ron D Core, DJ Dan, Barry Weaver, R.A.W., DJ Robin, Mellinfunk, Fester, E-Zone, Oscar Da Grouch, Machete, CRS?, Mordrum, APX-1, Slyten & Remo. All DJ's will be spinning 100% vinyl sets playing all your favorite early 1990's jams! Tonight’s show started out with dedicating the show to Aaron Seavey and played one of his all time favorite song Chasing The Sun by Planet Funk.

Then we played a special mix by DJ Altered State.
Minimal Widget has a Avid love for music that is not so mainstream.
She begun her journey in music production early 2011, using software such as Cubase.5 and SoundForge along with MiDi controllers and hardware synthesizers by Novation.

Dj as - The Altered State - since the begining of 2009.

Her sounds are unique and closely sit in the Techno / Minimal section.

Signed to V K Minimal Techno Label in November 2011 and will be releasing her first ep -
" Psyched Out"

Then we played a mix by Mark Panik & The Viking.
"This is a collaborative effort between Hardcore DJ Mark Panik and Northern California's Dubstep Viking, combining elements of Dubstep, progressive, and ambient sounds into a 40 minute soundscape. Artists include Bassnectar, Infected Mushroom, Caspa, Noah D, xilent, Bushy Vs. NAPT, Tina Malia, Double U, and Specimen A, with music direction by the VIking, and additional sound direction, production and mixing by Mark Panik."

We closed the show with a remix by Danny Tenaglia titled “Not Over Yet (Danny Tenaglia's Friday Night at Twillo Mix) by Grace” in honor of his announcement earlier this week that he will be retiring.

Born Alfred Weisberg-Roberts in Santa Monica, California, producer/instrumentalist Daedelus wanted to be an inventor from an early age, a sentiment that led to him choosing an artistic moniker (in Greek mythology, Daedelus was known as an inventor, although Weisberg-Roberts also cites the character Stephan Dedalus in James Joyce's A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man - as well as the ship in the Japanese cartoon Robotech - as equally valid reasons for his selection) when he began releasing his own work. Despite the fact that he was formally trained on double bass and bass clarinet, had studied jazz at USC, and could play additional instruments such as the guitar and accordion, Daedelus chose to go the electronica route, often incorporating samples from the '30s and '40s into his IDM and left-field hip-hop.

Though Daedelus' first single appeared 2001, it wasn't until the following year that his debut full-length, Invention, was released by the Plug Research label. Daedelus proved to be a prolific composer, and the following four years brought four new albums (released via Plug Research and Mush): 2003's Rethinking the Weather, 2004's Of Snowdonia, 2005's Exquisite Corpse, and 2006's Denies the Day's Demise. He also worked on countless singles and side projects, including a stint as a producer for his Mush labelmates. The musician's engaging live set was finally made available for fans, albeit in limited numbers, with Live at Low End Theory, which was recorded during a July 2007 performance at Los Angeles' The Airliner and released in early 2008. Love to Make Music To followed in July. Righteous Fists of Harmony, issued in 2010, was released on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label. In 2011, Ninja Tune released the ambitious Bespoke, which found Daedelus working with a long list of guest vocalists, including Will Wiesenfeld (Baths), Inara George of The Bird and the Bee, and Busdriver.

We will be playing Victoria's last recorded DJ set primetime on the big system, while her other DJ friends will be supporting.

Please join us as Victoria Alviti headlines at King King, and lets all dance one last time to the music she loved and always tried to share with us as a DJ.

ALVITI, VICTORIA, 22, of West Greenwich passed away Sunday August 21, 2011 due to an automobile accident in Malibu, CA.
Born in Providence she was the daughter of Peter Alviti Jr. of Warwick and Sharon (Hodgkins) Alviti of West Greenwich. Victoria was a Disc Jockey working all over the country and a Model working in CA and RI.
She attended Cranston High School West and was a part of their track and tennis teams and cheerleading squad, graduated from San Clemente High School in CA and was part of their tennis, track and lacrosse teams and a member of the South Shores Church Youth Group, CA.
Besides her parents she is survived by her sisters Valerie Marini and her husband Jim of Lincoln and Lauren Alviti of Boston, MA; she was the aunt of Jimmy, Nicholas and Camille Marini; step daughter of Kathy Lanni; granddaughter of Peter and Corrine Alviti Sr. of Cranston and the late Mary (Meloni) Alviti and Esther (Feeney) Hodgkins; niece of Dennis Hodgkins of West Greenwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am in Holy Apostles Church Pippin Orchard Rd. Cranston. Burial will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Victoria Alviti Music Scholarship Fund C/O Sharon Alviti 11335 Patriot Way West Greenwich, RI 02817. Victoria was a bright and beautiful person and we ask that you celebrate her life by wearing uplifting and bright colors to reflect her spirit.

We had another great show with Phillip Cejudo playing some house greats with an all vinyl set.

Since purchasing his first system at 12, Phillip Cejudo has stayed true to his roots and his passion. When he was fifteen he became known as DJ Phillip C. and played Los Angeles gigs with his mentor AJ Mora. By 2002 he became known as Phillip Cejudo during his solo gigs around Los Angeles as well as an annual music festival south of Chicago, IL.
Since 2005 Cejudo began developing his own events, the first, Sunday School was a monthly event held in a downtown Los Angles loft. His next event, Confidential was founded in 2010 after nearly two years spent dedicated to designing, building and installing a hand made sound system, DJ booth and event space in an old underground basement vault. His latest venture RoofTop Sessions with DJ Kerry and MPS Global Collective has quickly grown in popularity and prestige among dance music aficionados and has firmly established his reputation as a talented and skillful selector of inspiring and stirring House music.
Confidential will return on Saturday, August 27th for the one year anniversary party and it is an event not to be missed.

Jessica Lauren Hoke, 23, of San Diego, California, passed away December 3, 2010, at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana surrounded by family and many friends. Her tragic death was the result of a traffic accident in Costa Mesa while standing on the corner of an intersection while walking to work. 
Jessica was born August 11, 1987, in San Diego, California, the daughter of Gary and Paula Hoke. She was the oldest of 2 Girls. She is profoundly missed by parents and her sister Issabelle with whom she was extremely close. 
Jessica graduated from University Of California, Irvine in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She had also studied in Spain at the University of Madrid and visited England the summer of 2009. Jessica's radio program, The Exposure broadcast from KUCI on the UCI campus Friday afternoons in the Winter and Spring of 2010. 
Jessica is survived by all that knew her big smile and almost inappropriately loud laughter. As a beacon of light that shined on everyone she knew, she lived a truly fantastic life in her 23 years and greatly influenced so many people. She led by example motivating others by always planning her next big adventure. 
Thanks to the One Legacy Program, she is considered a hero by those people saved by her donated organs.
